My buddy
's fursuit head had seen some better days. He all around needed some TLC.
So last weekend I offered to take him home and give him a bath before FCN this weekend! And here are the results.
In the before pictures, I put a scrap of new white fur next to him to show how dirty his face was. I should have done it in the after photos as well, (I forgot), but take my word for it, he looks practically brand new!
The washing process was pretty much exactly the same as my TUTORIAL goes over.
I first took his eyes out, put him in the tub, scrubbed like crazy, and rinsed. Then, I put him in a pillow case, tied it shut, and put it in the washer to rinse the remaining suds out and spin as much water out as possible.
The drying process took much longer than other fursuit parts as I needed to be sure all the water got out of the foam in the head, to avoid any mold from growing. I had him sitting in front of two fans for about 36 hours, and I rotated him every now and then.
Other things I did:
-Cut his eye holes a bit bigger in the foam work; they were tiny before! His vision is significantly better now! :D
-Brushed like CRAZY. A good grooming does wonders.
-Gave him a new front neck flap! Long white fox fur looks so fantastic on necks.
-Sewed his balaclava to the neck inside, so putting him on and taking him off is that much easier!
I had a lot of fun doing this and seeing the before and after pictures is just phenomenal. I hope you enjoy!

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!! Please check with your fursuit maker before attempting anything like this, as all fursuit heads are built differently and yours may not survive the process! Be sure your fursuit head is sturdy enough before attempting anything like this. I am not responsible for damaged fursuit heads due to people attempting to wash them incorrectly.

WOW he got a ton cleaner!
I must thank you for posting the other tutorials! I washed my paws and feet and stuck them in the washer to spin. I don't have a fan but I put a towel on top the dryer and set them on that while I had stuff inside drying. I must say, worked like a charm! Drying the parts and took no time at all and by not being in the dryer, the fur stayed nice but they got the warmth from the dryer so they didn't take days to dry.

Well I just made sure to tug on everything real hard first to make sure it was solid, the ears, muzzle, nose, neck, etc. all the points were very sturdy, nothing was loose or wobbly. I could comfortably whip this head (or any of mine) at a wall and know nothing would fall off or break.
