Title just about wraps it all up. I wanted a large bell for my ferret suit Scout to wear on her collar for the full on 'domestic ferret' look (all thanks to YouTubes ferret vids an Annubrius <3) but all of the large bells I was finding had silly shapes cut into them or were bleeding eye PINK. Finally found a Santa Claus believer bell and picked up the second largest. It arrived much heavier than planned and almost deafening. I honestly hadn't planned on making a duplicate till I tested the weight on the collar itself while in suit and couldn't stand the weight or sound which brings me to my copy...

My resin copy is nearly solid resin, hand painted, and sealed to keep the paint on. No clapper inside means it's 100% silent (means happy con goers around me!) and is literally 75% lighter. The original bell, a solid brass piece with chrome plating, weighed easily over a pound, its darker colored resin counterpart being only 1/4 lb <3

The mold grenaded shortly after demolding which is fine with me as I only wanted to make one casting. No plans on selling either bells. I'm rather fond of how it turned out more nickle plated/antiqued as it is now much more camera friendly than the extra reflective chrome surface of the original.
