This engine [Design wise] has been used since 1960s. It is a Caterpillar Diesel D399. It's mainly used for oil field/natural gas stuff. I overhauled it and then took it for a dyno run.... results were impressive after getting the fuel timing, governor, and waste gate dialed in. Dyno run @ 1130hp/5481 lb/ft tq @ 1200 rpm
