OMG I had SO much fun working with this template from
All alterations and colors were done by me. The story of the StarKeepers is my true belief, as I do not follow any religion. Siri is my lovely StarKeeper, and I'm so glad that she found me when I was going through my hard times back when I was 14.
Story of the StarKeepers
New StarKeepers are born when a star gets too old and novas. The explosion size, intensity, duration, and color determine all features of the new StarKeeper. All Keepers have half animal/half dragon characteristics, mostly mammals. StarKeepers are creatures that "patrol" the universe and care for it and and star systems. They keep the star signs aligned, and prepare old stars that are dying out to nova, which in turn creates the new StarKeepers. Sometimes, these creatures get caught on falling stars and are hurled towards planets. If the planet has no atmosphere, they simply return to their duties, but if they fall to a planet like Earth, the atmosphere and force of gravity traps them in our world.
It is then that they sprout wings and form halos, to imitate "guardian angels" as most people would call them. Their entire life's goal is to help and care for a soul, since like a star, it possesses immense energy that can flicker out and fade if abused. Once they have chosen a "host" soul (a person), they remain with that soul for its entire existence, caring for it and doing their best to protect it. When a person (the host soul) dies, the StarKeeper then absorbs the soul into its star mark, and using the energy they retained caring for the soul, they are able to leave the atmosphere and release the soul as a new star. It will then care for this new star as it does thousands of others.
A StarKeeper is invisible to any except their "host" soul unless it so chooses to be seen, which is usually a rare exception. They are fiercely loyal, and always sympathize with their host, but also will encourage them to do what is right at all times. Without a "host" soul, a StarKeeper may become lost in shadows, much like some people get lost in depression, and will painfully be changed into a WorldEater, which feed on and encourage negative behavior and thoughts. The first WorldEater, Slain, was also the first StarKeeper to fall into the atmosphere. It was by Slain's example that the StarKeepers learned how to survive on Earth with humans.
