Toby pulled up his shirt and saw his stomach was wrapped where his broken ribs were at and looked at his leg again and had a cold damp feeling. He pulled the blanket away and saw he saw he was pretty wet and saw a nurse walking in to check on him. He couldn't help but blush as he was about to be changed by someone else for the first time.

“Oh it's ok sweety nothing to be sad about we see this all the time,” The wolf nurse said smiling.”

Toby laid on his back left his legs up trying to help out a little thinking whats gonna happen when his mom comes. Just as he was finished being changed his mom comes running in with flowers and a stuff animal. She stopped in place when she saw her 22 year old son in diapers, an arm, leg cast, and his ribs wrapped up. She turned and saw the doctor walk in asked to speak to her in the hall way.

“Hello Miss...”

“Ashley” Toby's mom said

“Hello Ashley. I'm sure you saw that he's in diapers and the cast's. The accident he was in almost left him paralyzed but he was very lucky. Unfortunately it did leave him incontinent with bladder problems. We think he can still know when he has a bowel movement but we may keep him here another night.”

Ashley couldn't believe it. She felt like part of her was ripped out of her chest.

“May I please go see my son”

“Absolutely.” The doctor said smiling

She walked in to see Toby had covered himself with the blanket turning red a little. Ashley walked over to his side of the bed setting everything down and kissed his head. He looked up at his mom and tried reaching up for a hug but tensed up from the pain in his ribs.

“Shh don't do that hun, relax ok?” His mom said running her paw through his fur.

Ashley kissed his head again and looked across the from him and saw the stack of diapers and still couldn't believe it. No matter what, she's still going to love her son.

“Did the doctor say when I could leave?” Toby asked looking up at his mom.

“He said he wanted to keep you here another night just to make sure.”

“How are gonna pay for all these hospital bills?”

“The police are trying to get a hold of the other drives insurance information to see what can be done. Are you hungry at all?”

“Yes very. Haven't eaten since noonish. Anything sounds good right now.” Toby said holding his stomach.

His mom kissed his and said she will be right back as soon as she can. Toby watched his mom walked out and looked at his side and saw a stuff wolf and hugged it with a small tear coming down his cheek. It's gonna be hard to get use to all this being diapered 24/7 now. He was worried about messing with out knowing but could feel his lower stomach hurting and knows that feeling. He reached for the alarm button and the same nurse was soon in.

“Yes Toby?”

“I uh have to go to the bathroom. Um number 2.”

“Ok, let me get some help in here.”

She walked out and soon came back with two other nurses to help him out of bed. Slowly they walked to the bathroom and the nurse untaped his diaper, helping him sit down. The nurses left so he could have some privacy and finished his business. Once he was done he pulled on the cord that was in the bathroom and they walked back in helping him up. They helped him back to his bed and up in it. The other two nurses left and his nurse put a fresh diaper on him and walked out.

Toby thought he would see what was on T.V. for anything good on. He did find some cartoons since nothing else was good on. Plus he still enjoyed some cartoons since he was a kid at heart. Soon after his mom walked back in with food from Applebee's and he smiled when he saw her.

“Someone sure seems happy.” His mom said pulling his table close to him.

“Well I did went to the bathroom and um went number 2 instead of here.”

“Wells that's very good. Hope it will stay that way.”


Toby opened the tray and saw she got him a burger with bacon on it and struggled a little. His mom pulled out a plastic knife and cut it in half to make it easy. He thanked her and was able to eat and enjoy his food. They talked more about what they are gonna do and how they will afford the diapers and supplies. Toby finished his food as did his mom and visiting time was almost over. Ashley leaned over and kissed her son on the forehead.

“I will be here first thing in the morning sweety. Love you.”

“Love you too mom.”

His mom walked out and went back to watching T.V. when he saw a nurse walk in with needles and tubes. Last time he remembered getting stabbed was giving blood. The nurse told him what the blood work was for and said there was nothing to worry about. He was so use to the needles he didn't feel nothing.

“Um can I ask a question?” Toby asked nervously.

“Sure sweety.” The nurse said smiling.

“What if I have bowel movement in my sleep Will I get in trouble?”

“No silly, that's what the diaper is for. Like we said, we are pretty sure you only have bladder problem.” She said giggling a little.

Toby smiled a little also and saw it was around 9:00 now and was getting tired. He put the light on dim and still watched T.V. cuddling with his stuff animal. Soon after he feel a sleep and was out cold.
