Sooo today I stumbled upon Courage the Cowardly Dog on Netflix and I was so sad to see that it only went to season two. >:[ Then I remembered this one episode called "The Mask" and these two characters! So I found a version of it on youtube and through the whole thing I couldn't help thinking these two were gay for eachother in some way. xD Maybe I'm just watching the show wrong.

You're not watching the show wrong, it was just made at a time where overt lesbianim was almost impossible to put on TV, expecially in a kid's show. I watched The Myserious Mr Enter's review of this episode and he points out that yes, those two are lesbians (bunny might have been bi at some point but the episode might have changed that).
Keep in mind the mouse toy said to Kitty love bunny, so yeah, the whole "best friends forever" was the writers' sneaky way of pushing a lesbian couple past the censors
