It occurs to me: wouldn't it be interesting if you could choose a Trainer Class like this in the Pokemon games? Like... choose one or two type of pokemon that you want to focus on, and it'll give you a training boost for them, while lessening your abilities with other Pokemon sort of thing. Personally, I think I'd dig the hell out of that. Would add an interesting layer of stuff to the game on top of, well... the admittedly many layers that are already present. ;P
