Although the original sketch dates back to 2005, I only just started work on it again. Some background details have been modified, but the biggest changes are to the rover, Opportunity, seen behind Saara. Since 2005, I've not only acquired better photos of the rover, I have a 3D model of it that I can pose from any angle. That helps immeasurably! I've also experimented with adding one of Saara's "flyers" in the background. The first attempt was to paste one in from a different drawing. It was too large, though, so I reverted to the original version, without the "flyer." Since then, I drawn in another, but farther in the background so that it is less of a match for objects in the foreground. You won't see that version until I make the next scan, though. I've a lot of work to do first. After the b/w drawing is done, it goes into Photoshop for digital colouring. The ultimate purpose of all this is a cover for a fanzine that is running my 100th. article for it. 100! Jeez. It hardly seems possible. Yet, I've run 260 journals in FaceBook, so I guess "100 Is Not Too Many!" (That's the name of the article, by the way.) Opportunity. Although it's moved on from Endurance Crater, in the current sketch I've altered features enough that it is seen from what might be a minor crater within gigantic Endeavor Crater. (Several hundred yards south-west of its current position, near Cape York, I believe.)
Tsk, I might hope to go as far as hardly dressed embrace, too famous to want to break the air of celebrity she has for me. Same reason you'd never see me with Omaha or Erma Felna, even if the opportunity arose to buy my way into an anything goes scene. It would be necking at most. But I know how insinuating it sounded. ;)
