
Annotated collage of kiln firing, 4/10/2013. The iron plates I got at Gachman Metals work really great, reflecting heat back into the firing chamber. The clay glows spooky purple-red when the chamber reaches Hadean temperatures. It's even glowing a dull purple in the light of a flash photo.

Just remember to add a bit of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, and traces of oxygen, nitrogen and aluminum. Those last three seem to end up in it any way . Do you think the Norse Gods would use those words ? Hmmmm , I guess if they're Gods they should know them and if they don't I'm guessing they ain't Gods anyways .
