Teyan is a civil engineer who has put up with less than stellar work in order to take care of his sick parents. He is shaken up by a dream of a woman in white who he believes is connected to The Exodus - A mini-migration of transcendentals, interested in leaving behind the humdrum world of their birth and striving for something else out beyond the freshly opened space lanes of near orbit. Those ships left over 20 years ago, and now as Teyan's obligations to the past are slipping away, his long fascination with the missing exiles is pulling him inexorably skyward.
