You know, if were I a petty woman, about now I'd make a comment about "bangarang-ing his mother" or some such. But really, that's just too damn easy.
Mozart won.

Yeah, somewhere back along them times. *smirks* Though to be perfectly fair, I'm sure it takes a great deal of... talent... to use the computing devices of today to record existing audio samples and rearrange them with other samples to convert them into music for white kids to dance badly to on youtube. *snickers*
You know, *snofts* with all the "re-boots" and "re-makes" out there making cashola hand over fist, I suppose it shouldn't be any surprise that this aural twaddle is all the rage... *sets her chin* S'not that big a leap really. Take what's already there, rearrange it a bit and call it your own work, something new....
Go, Skrillex... or Sonny... or whatever... *shrugs* Idon'fuggin'care....

True Story:
I was awoken early one fine morn to the sound of loud Dubstep music coming from what I assumed was my neighbors place... I went out to investigate and found that the sound was coming from the storage/laundry room... I opened the door... it was just the washer being off-balance.
swear to god.... that actually happened.

I SO miss having you around, love. *laughs*
I don't doubt the validity of this tale in the slightest, but this makes it no less hilarious. I'm still trying to figure out what seperates "dubstep" from "badly done homemade techno" but I've yet to really come to anything tangible. *brow arcs* Thoughts? Opinions? Hamburgers?

Pffft... *stifles laughter* I wonder if anyone's thought to make a video of anything like that of yet? It'd have to produce better fanvids of skinny white kids dancing in front of their webcams. I'd imagine the intermittent screaming would go well, juxtaposed against the rest of the noise....

Not quite the clip I was looking for (SID sampling screams of his victims and playing them back....) but close enough.

"Ashley's commenting on my crap, must mean there's a new comic or two."
I really appreciate you for doing this. The scrawny-whiteboy-on-the-internet crowd has really taken its toll on music, IE replacing it with a series of nonsensical noises. One of such crowd unwatched me when I had the audacity to imply that electronic music required less talent than one might think.
I'll keep it short and sweet. The main difference between modern electronic music and real music? Literally anybody can do the former.

Again, earlier this eve I was talking with Chrissie and I said the following: "Okay, I will admit that utilizing the tools of their trade, 'D.J.s' does require a degree of skill. However, they need to accept what they are. DEE JAYs... Disc Jockeys... literally people who play other people's music. Sure, there is a degree of ability required, as with an actual composer, they do put different things in a certain order, but let's be serious here. With all the proper equipment practically anyone could produce a competent and danceable dub-step remix from the Burger King theme."

I don't think so, s it did require song-writing and generally had some lyrics and cute somewhat effeminate European guys and... *calms down* But again, it seems everyday I grow more out of touch or maybe the music scene gets a bit more up it's own ass with the ridiculous. *head tilts* I'm not sure which it is, but I'm leaning to the latter.
just the other day I saw an add for a band described as "New Metal Core"... "Metal Core"...? What in the unholy nine hells of Harry Houdini is "Metal Core"? Is that like "Metal"? Then why don't they just call them a "metal" band? *shakes her head* I dunno...

YES for fuck's burning sake yes...I remember better than Pepperidge fucking farm does...i saw those bands LIVE. Make no mistake-talent does still endure today, however overlooked, but there do remain actual song composers and musicians who still "plug in". Listen to the Black Keys or Lindsey Sterling if you need a refreshing reminder...
Good, good use the anger of the dark side. *stands there in palpatine pope's robes.* And ya... lotta music has started to turn weird... and not at all that interesting i guess the main issue is that the "good" underground bands need to stay underground to keep their integrity... or else explode so big a super nova looks tame by comparison. Hmm still i find my self listening more often to music that my father listened to an just adding a few songs here and there... then again i have 5 different scores of Hungarian dance a score of heart of oak and a few other marching band songs.. and Scotland the brave mixed in with lead zeppelin ACDC and even the odd queens song along with weird al and even a couple rap songs i am partial too.. >.> not a lot.. just a few..
Been absurdly busy over the past two years, and part of the main reason you havent seen me on at all is 2 christmases back I'd shattered my Cintiq. x_x
Got a new one, MUCH bigger and badder beast of a drawing monitor, and gnashing my teeth at the art that will result from the following weeks. >8D
*tips hat, bows with a flourish* Been doing very well, and much better than I have in a long while. And rich with joy, for the things I'm able to enjoy once more! Among them, friendly banter with you, again, Ashley. <3
I'll be around. I'll enjoy traipsing onto your abundantly inspiration-rich page, here. <3

Well, I've long held the belief that any person, entertainer, can put out at least one song worth my dollar. From Brittney Spears to Vir De Grey, Elvis Presley to Tupac Shakur, all stories have some chapter worth at least thumbing through.
Though that does not mean I'll call it's author a "Genius" any time this century... *chuckles

This raises the question of if Edgar Allen Poe was to be the inventive force behind the executioners methodology, what deviltry would he have in mind for Techrat here....?
WHICH BY THE WAY... *big eyes, glaring* For that journal... oh jeezus fuck b-grruuguarAUGH!.... *growls, straightens her top* Such a humorous notion, that this poseur looked just like a side-character villain lackey from an 80's cartoon. I still fine the notion gleefully entertaining. But looking up a video of "Techrat" to show alongside footage of this "Skrillex" twat... oh what horrors I beheld. Some "Bronie" halfwit, a good example of the "guy too old to obsess over a cartoon intended to market toys to little girls" has decided to take the name "Techrat" for his own and apparently is popular with these simpletons to the tune of the first four pages of videos that came up when I wanted just one lousy video clip from one lousy episode of "Jem and The Holograms"...

let me see if i hear this right. There's a brony that's obsessed with bass called "Techrat". After learning Build-A-Bear Workshop now sells MLP customizable plush toys(something i learned after a recent trip to a mall), I'm not surprised. Just point me to the nearest soundproof room and pass me Deathklok's CD's
Damn right. Thoose restyled versions are like girl with additional boobs (on her knees, elbows, head, feet, ass(just incase)... )
Or remixes. I say, how would he like to see his children cut and reasembled in "useful" order.

I remember when music was sung and played, not programmed and autotuned. I remember when cartoons were drawn BY HAND, not on FLASH. I remember when movies had CREDIBLE actors, not the same rehashes. I remember when Cartoon Network played Freaking CARTOONS! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOOD OLD DAAAAAAAYS!?
The only think that pisses me off about Skrillex is that when he collabed with what was(sadly) left of the Doors, there wasnt enough Doors. Sorry but Ray screaming a random line and doing a bit of organ work doesnt really work for me.
Sigh....R.I.P. Ray Manzarek, wish you could beat some sense into Skrillex regarding that track and make Robby get a grip of himself as well....
