Halloween is just a fun night for kids, not some kind of immoral ultimatum. The people who do that stuff would do it regardless, on any other day of the year. "Trick or Treat" is older than dirt, the literal term doesn't carry any meaning anymore and most people don't even say it anymore. I think you're overthinking it. Kids, candy, costumes, just sounds like a day out of the year to break the monotony, nothing wrong with that.

That thought of overthinking it did cross my mind. Bear in mind I wrote this originally in October of 2011, the same month I first joined FA, but still, you're right; it's nothing to freak out about. Also, while my brother and I never went trick-or-treating ourselves (because we didn't like the concept of the pumpkins, witches, and other potentially Satantic stuff), we did give away a bunch of candy and just eat the leftovers, which more often than not proves to be a lot.

Well...I can kind of see witches being regarded as "Satanic" but...pumpkins are literally just a vegetable that you carve a face into because it's fun looking. That wouldn't imbue it with any additional evil power, and I suspect they had little to begin with.

Kids should be thrown in jail for saying "trick or treat" and parents spending a year in jail for a misunderstanding? Isn't that a way too extreme a punishment?

It is, but here's a news flash for you: Wildcat City has problems with extreme laws, and is working to tone them down. The parents went to jail on public disorder counts for stirring up a rumor that wasn't true, seen in a similar way to how War of the Worlds on radio panicked America to death.

One thing you should know is that I personally struggle with extreme beliefs, linked to the autism I suffer from and the narrow-minded habits I am desparate to break, and it's not easy.

Not saying it is, but what makes it difficult for me, personally, to read your stories is that it's hard to tell if it's the views of a character or your own personal views on a subject. It's kinda hard to tell any of your characters personalities apart aside from their name, gender, species, and abilities. Like I don't know if that's how they feel verses how you feel.

Sorry about that; the difficulty was unintentional. My characters range from the ones that value traditional lifestyles (such as Leo the Patriotic Lion) to those that are the geeky kind (such as T2, TECHNO TIGER), to those with a kindhearted personality (such as Cripto). Most of the views are supposed to be their own. If I want to express my own personal views, I do that in a poem most of the time (such as my poem entitled "Lottery").
