i agree with you here, there are many far more interesting animals than cows. i think its a combination of how big a role they play as food and how they are represented in culture. there may be a sort of cause and effect relation between the two. think about all the old cartoons that featured cow based anthropomorphics. these two general elements creates a sort of false nostalgia. you have lovely control of the gouache here. i think the pastoral scene adds to the sense of nostalgia as well. keep up the good work
