Hair is amazingly fun to draw, but hard to get right and I really love how you did it here.

Out of curiosity, your linework looks like it has a texture on it, is that pen settings or just using a texture overlay?

i used Loish's brush suggestions (from loish.net) her site is going really slow for me right now so the pages won't open. It's the Photoshop default brush (chalky, 63) :) That's all it is! No textures on the brushes perse, but I did use a paper overlay over the entire image.
