for silverwing of one of our character couples, hush and devon, because I <3 her and finishing something of them was WAY overdue. it amazes me to think they've been either friends or a couple for about 11 years!
idk if anyone remembers our stuff from way back, but hush is a new take on an old character of mine - updated to better reflect how I imagined him and with some added changes to differentiate his look now from what he was. (and from my current human character that the old version evolved into... whew!)
I'd like to do a little picture like this of all of jolyn and my couples, as kind of a call back to something I drew for her back in 2004. plus, if you couldn't tell by like half the pictures I've uploaded lma, I really enjoy the look of self-contained cropped busts like this with no background. they have a sort of simple but elegant aesthetic that appeals to me... I don't know why they charm me so, but they do. @3@
hush is an icy heart breaker and devon represents heart break and blind love, so they make a wonderful duality together and I'm super excited to continue depicting their relationship. love you jolyn! <3

OH MY GOD she is going to freak outttt. ;3; This is SO pretty holy fuck. Love the purple and aqua color pallettes, and the size difference. :3 Devon looks so so delicate. ;3; <333 Their hair and eyelashes are beautiful. <333 Damn, Devon looks so blissful here.... This is great. :D
JUST. OMG. OMGOMGOGOMMOMSDlgkjsa.... I just squealed so loud and I'm like "Adam pause your video game and LOOK AT THIS!" Because he sees me drawing these two all the time. Oh Phees ;_; I love this so much, I can't even begin to explain it. There is something so magical about your art that just draws me down and in, and inspires me to better my own work and pay attention to those little details. I knew that the title was from that song when I saw it, and the fact that you used Goo Goo Dolls... well you know that would melt my heart because I love them so much. And that song is quite fitting for the two of them <3
I love seeing you draw them together. These two are so very special to me in so many ways, I can't believe it's been over 11 years! It's amazing how long we've known each other and had our characters intertwined. Devon always worked so well with Hush... and as they both have matured over the years and their looks slightly changed, I find it represents their growth and the way their relationship has grown. I love how they always find a way to match each other, the ribbon heart necklaces are one of my favorite touches to this. I can't believe how perfectly you drew Devon, everything is absolutely perfect. All the little things just make me melt, like the way his whiskerdots even fade into a bit of purple amidst the black and the tan. And how his inner ears are so detailed and you can tell they are fleshy, and you used purple there too! I love how it's a light light purple that has a pinkish tinge but also that purple hue. And oh his hair ;_; So elegant and long and lovely and vibrant! I do like the lavender hair, and it does match so well with Hush. Light blues and purples definitely go together <3 The little ribbons in his hair are so cute and I'm going to have to start drawing them from now on. I love your take on his piercings - since they change everytime lol. The little monroe is adorable, his lip, and all his earrings! Look at the beautiful dangly star that has not one star, but two! This makes it even better, and I really like the industrial. His shy little smile and the detail on his and Hush's lips is beautiful. Oh and the eyelashes ;_; Both of theirs are so so so detailed and elegant and pretty and sparkly. I love how everything matches so perfectly on both of them - all the purples on Devon and all the blues on Hush. Devon's dress is so cute and so very something he would wear. I love how Hush loves him for who he is, and doesn't try to change him, but moreso Devon adores him so he tries to change little things FOR him. Hush is so icy and cold here, you can tell he is not an easy book to read, and that he probably wouldn't give you the time of day, and it kinda looks like he's staring down anyone that would dare to come near them, like he's being protective of his Devons.
It's even more touching how icy and cold and distant he is, but that he is holding Devon so close and protectively, you can tell there's a soft side underneath all that makeup and grump. I really really love his outfit here, especially the little chain and studded zipper on his chest that I believe is holding together a lovely shirt underneath his wooly coat. I also love how you use so many shades of blue! I must start adding in some more blue when I color him besides cool greys, I think it would bring him out so much more. And of COURSE the way you did their muzzles is beyond impressive. You can take one look at these two and immediately know what species they are. His wooly coat, his cute little hooves and bracelets.... oh and Devon's hands! How I love them and how dainty and elegant they are gently touching Hush, with the little heart ring on one finger. Oh gosh and I almost forgot to mention how I love the way you did his undercut and the fluff!
Oh gosh I could go on and on and on but I think I've written you a long enough novel. I'm sure you know how much I love this, because you know how special these two are to me. I would just die to see all our couples drawn again in your style, but you take your time and don't feel like you have too. It is just so fun to see how much everyone has evolved and changed and yet kept those characteristics that were so unique to them. I love you so very much, you are such a wonderful friend and always have been since way back in the day (we're old greymuzzles now) ;) And how even though some time passed, once we got back in touch it's like things picked up right where they left off. I love you a ton and thank you so, so much for this <3

The details you add to everything aah ;-; and your sheep YOUR SHEEP and dobies too and the fuzzy part of Devon's hair is fabulous!
