At my parents' house, for several years now my light-sleeping father has been serenaded at dead-of-night hours by mockingbirds. Just one, I'm assuming it's not the same bird year after year. It's one of the surest signs of spring.

A peculiar thing around these parts: the night-time mockingbird sing-offs seem to be...coordinated.
I've taken evening drives with the car open, and suddenly mockingbirds start doing their random-sample thing, like one every square mile or so. It all starts and all stops seemingly as if on cue.

I work at a hotel, and every year, there's one bird who sits in the bushes outside and chirps all night long!!!! I've even went outside to shake the bush to get him to leave, and he just flys to the next one. annoying lil tweeter.
