Adoptables are characters that someone else has thought up, colored, and sold. Usually these are cheap because the main outline is the same cookie cutter charracter (such as a rabbit) but the coloring is unique with each sale. Once bought the buyer owns all rights and can do with the character as they please.
so basically its a cheap way to get a new character without a whole lotta thought.

see this is really odd to me. I have all these crazy random thoughts and ideas upstairs so I dont think i would ever use this sort of thing, but that is a cool idea and i can see how people would benefit.
