Here's my current tapestry project. It's longstitch of two frogs.
Who knows how long it'll take me to finish it, but I intend to give it as a gift to my highschool year advisor (I'm in university currently). She adores frogs.
When I went on holiday to Queensland a couple of weeeks back we took a plane ride that was all of 1 hour and the airport had the decency to break my frame. Luckily I found a textile shop very near to the hotel and so I bought anoter. This one is actually a little bit more robust.
Anyway, you can see both frogs clearly now, plus a little of the background stuff.
I forgot to take a photo of the back, so I'll probably do so later.
As to size, I think it's about 30cm in diameter. I haven't actually measured it.

Sorry for the late reply. I went overseas for a week :)
Yes, the background will be a dark colour :). It's a really dark almost black brown mainly. As you can see, I'm working from a bought pattern which does include the colours. I still end up unpicking bits and pieces when I don't like where some of the stitches are.
As for fancy looking, it's about the same level of difficulty as my other ones. The last step will have something I've never done before, but if it impresses, I won't object. *shows off*
