I wrote both, back to back. I think it shows my extreme love/hate relationship with religion and my constant fascination with the dichotomy which can exist within in us.
Do read both. I'd prefer them to be displayed side by side but FA is rather limited there. The religious tones of the first do not proceed to the second. They are very much anathema to each other.

The pieces do complement and contrast each other very well. I'm not a poet myself, but I like the second poem, and I particularly like "Tread softly towards the Reaper" and "the Voices have all ceased."
One critique--I think you meant "vein" instead of "vain," unless you meant it to be a play on words!
