Earthbound for Virtual Console has finally been announced for North America and Europe as of today, which is a very good thing as it's my favorite series.
darkou recently finished a playthrough last month, so figured what better way to commemorate by knocking two birds with one stone? I recently got some Serwex fountain pens and wanted to give it a try. Purple ink looks amazing!

Their GUTS stat is 225, highest in the game, so they can land a crap ton of SMASH attacks. With 255 as max stat they have an 88% chance of landing a crit. I fucking hate those fuzzy little bastards.
I read in one of the reviews that they'll be using the SNES's graphics, but with the GBA script as it has less Ted Woosley translation issues.

There weren't many changes from the Ted Woosley SNES to the GBA one, mostly just clarity on some of the translations. Even I will admit there were some... weird areas of script in the original.
I'm all for originals as well, but there's many SNES games that are buggy and w/ shoddy translations that are game breakers. FF6 has more bugs than a rotting corpse (Relm sketch bug for one), and FF4's script was a lot to be desired..

*nods* I've done it and if you lose the game just stops and it can't do anything because it's to take you back to the last save point, but it can't because there are no more monsters so if it DID the game whould crash, but it's still there, and I wonder if they'll leave it in or not, because I WILL test to see if it's still there
Bit of both. It's a quirky RPG that was originally released in 1995 that uses humor and a modern-day setting to set itself apart from the medieval RPGs that dominated at the time.
The script is actually quite funny! One of the few games I talk to everyone around me as they're silly, and they change what they say after minor changes to the story too.
I would definitely recommend you give this game a try :)

Those key words. heh, clever.
I'm really happy about the enemy you chose to use in this! Those rowdy mice were a pain because of their high crit ratio! It only made being abble to one-shot them without entering battle that much better.
I'm still hunting down an actual copy of the game. I once had an original, but then my dad got rid of a lot of my old gaming stuff while I was away in the military. Still pisses me off just thinking about it.

the one game that got me into the whole "perfect game file"....
had my one clear in teh game where i got the best weapons and armors for everyone. XD
Paula's magical frying pan, Poo's sword of kings, Jeff's parabola ray, and Ness' gutsy bat. (soooooo many hours! and i was maxed lvl before i got the sword! D: lol)

essentially you get boosts you'd just get by levelling up anyway, and learning the PSI omega move early instead of naturally at like 60ish. (i beat that around lvl 48 my first play)
sadly, going for the gutsy bat and sword of kings, takes SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long ><' 1/256 chance rate sucks. lol. amusingly, getting the sword always took me longest too. :o
