Ichigo 'Strawberry' Kurosaki is the main protagonist of the hit anime/manga Bleach. -Spoilers below-

Ichigo Kurosaki is the son of an ex-Gotei 13 captain and a human female, which explains his unnaturally high spiritual power and being able to see spirits, which is unnatural for human beings. One fateful night, he encounters a Soul Reaper named Rukia Kuchiki. She then becomes severally injured when fendin' off an evil spirit called a Hollow while tryin' to protect Ichigo's family. She then asks if Ichigo is willing to protect his family and answers yes. Rukia and Ichigo introduce themselves as he impales the center of his being with her sword, awakenin' his Soul Reaper power

All Soul Reapers wield their own personal sword, known as a Zanpaktou. No two are alike and each have their own name. A Zanpaktou initially appears as a samurai-esque sword with unusual hilt guards. A zanpaktou's true power can be released if its owner knows its name. However, that name cannot be chosen as it is automatically predetermined, meaning that the Soul Reaper has communicate with the sword's spirit. Once done the zanpaktou transfoms into a release mode known as Shikai. The shikai is activated by a command, followed by the name of the weapon.
The true power of the zanpaktou can be realized through its final release, known as Bankai. Bankai occurs when the Soul Reaper and Zanpaktou are in absolute sync with each other. Bankai manifests the zanpaktou in a form akin to the weapon's spirit and gives its owner a significat power boost

Ichigo's zanpaktou is called Zangetsu, or 'Moon Cutter' in Japanese. In its 'sealed' form, it appears as an oversized sword. Regardless of its size, it is weak because of Ichigo's lack of absolute control over his reiatsu. Twice in the series, this becomes evident as the sword has been broken effortlessly until Ichigo finally learns the sword's name, and transforms into its permanent Shikai form. Later on, Ichigo obtains the Bankai, a first for all Soul Reapers

Like most Japanese superheroes, Ichigo has a special attack that's used commonly throughout the series. His is Getsuga Tenshou (Heaven Moon Fang Stab in Japanese), which appears as a burst of spirit energy in the shape of a half moon. It a;sp appears in two forms. In shikai form, it is a simple reiatsu burst, but in Bankai it is black and red

The bankai of Zangetsu is Tensa Zangetsu (as displayed in the pic), which is considerably different from any other bankai. Rather than further increasin' his already abnormally high reiatsu, it compresses it, allowing him to move faster than any eye can see

Phew, that was a LOT of explainin'. XD I drew Ichigo as a lizard, as his Hollow form was also a lizard. His markings were also based on said form. Plus, Ichigo looks badass in Bankai. XP
