For it's very serious nature, this picture addresses a couple of inquiries that have come my way recently about these characters...

Paige is well adept to hiding her true emotions on things. She often expresses a very confident and calm attitude, never really surprised by anything and never quick to anger. Unbeknownst to everyone, despression was slowly taking its toll on her.

As mentioned in her initial submission, Paige was formerly human, married, and had a daughter. After several years of a calm, her husband suddenly became erratic and abusive, culminating in his damand for a divorce. Using his influence, not did he leave his ex-wife financially broken, he also made sure she would never see her daughter again. Paige was devastated by this, but she was powerless to challenge him. Seemingly out of options, she left the country and eventually found herself in Japan. In a complicated series of events, she was allowed to become an Avian. She viewed this transformation as the final step in shedding her past and starting over.

Paige was still broken about having her daughter ripped away from her, but she still felt there was little she could do, and grudgingly abandoned any hope of seeing her again. She even feared that if she did try to visit her child, she would likely be brainwashed from her father's lies about Paige (he already hed an 'obituary' written up for her, in which he boasted that HIS child was free from HER 'evils'). Paige struggled to put her past behind her, but the sight of other families sparked thoughts of the family that was taken from her.

So it was a shock when a young human woman named Cynthia arrived in Japan, specifically looking for Paige. She had managed to escape her father's abusive clutches and hoped that the rumors of her mother being alive were true. When they finally came face to face, there was initially some disbelief, considering how much both have changed. But there was little doubt about their connection.

Paige embraced her daughter once again for the first time in nearly two decades. Any control of her emotions at that moment was lost...
