This was an experimental piece that I think turned out kind of neat! :D A while back my friends and I used to love to collect these adorable little Disgaea figurines(http://www.anime-gift.com/productim.....G/MSFG2626.jpg), and now I have quite an abundance of them. When I made my Leona sculpture(http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8739668/) I even used these figures as a reference for their cute style.
And then I saw an artist on dA's adorable figurine customization of Edward Elric(http://fav.me/d4rpsjo) and it inspired me to attempt a toy customazation of my own. Toph is my favorite character from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and I found a figure in my collection that seemed like a good fit for her.
This ended up being a lot more work than I thought it would be! The original figurine had to be cut and sanded considerably, then I resculpted all her clothes and most of her hair. The feet were one of the hardests parts, and involved me sanding down the original character's shoes and using an exacto blade and nail file to shape them into feet(I'm still not completely happy with them, but they were definitely a learning experience!). I then repainted the entire figure. All in all, I'm pretty darn happy with how she turned out! Though I had to glue her arms in place due to all the modifications I did to them, her head is able to rotate and is even removable! XD

Toph measures just under 3in tall. She is made from a mixture of Super Sculpey/Sculpey Firm polymer clay over the original plastic toy, painted with acrylics and sealed with a matte finish. She is mounted on a tiny wooden base that has been painted and glazed.
