I like being a southerner, but I am still a fan of the union. :>

Southerners have always just seemed so friendly!

Most of us are more friendly towards other southerners because the ancestors were pissed off and hateful towards "Lincolnites".

People forgive, but not many tend to forget.

In my heritage especially, we have kind of an independence rebel blood in our veins. Irish, German, (probably) Norwegian, and then Southern US.

Lots of failed attempts and pride off the charts.

I know all about that independent streak. German-Irish ancestry also. Great great grandfather moved to Cincinnati, and by the time I was born my parents had moved to Western Kentucky.

To me, it seems a lot of times that Southerners care less about what's legal and more about what's right...Or what they think is right. Of course there are mistakes (slavery is wrong, for instance), but all in all if you gave me a choice between living with people from the north or living with people from the south, no choice, I'll take the Southern companionship. :>

Also, we have better weather and more self sufficiency and charm, I say! <3

Slavery isn't key for confederates anymore. It was more efficient then, and today we have machines and sprays, etc.

The south is more of a more labor with honesty and less pussy-toeing through the daisies. We don't care for fancy living... nor snow! FUCK SNURR!

I live in Kentucky. There have been school cancellations when snow simply *threatened* to fall. When the ice-pocalypse hit, there were areas without power for a month, but the people came together and helped one another in a very neighborly manner! c:

We didnt have neighbors in 2009 xD but yes. And it was beautiful!

It really was. We had a campfire, ate food on the woodstove, and read by candlelight! <3

We hooked a space heater up to a generator and pretty much tried to continue our work around the house x3
