Well, remember, it's medieval time. So no extensive underground places. Well, cities survive -- somewhat -- by bricking the windows -- but any daylight activity is out, so farming becomes more difficult due to all the pests... And it mostly hinders the travel, not sitting in place.
Moving around at night is possible, but unless it's short distance, you need to be really well equipped to do that -- because the daybreak is not danger, it is death.
And there are dangers at night, too.
