A character I had posted before on my old page, with some slight alterations...
Elizabeth is an Avian I created specifically to exploit the theme surrounding her namesake. She is based on the DeHavilland DH.100 Vampire fighter, which she purposely chose because she is a true, blood consuming vampire.
Over 700 years ago, she was unwilling turned into a vampire by a lover and has cursed that day ever since. She was able to kill the man, hoping that the mythology that his death would cure her was true. When it proved to be false, she spent her life trying to find other methods to become human again (that didn't involve her death). In the meantime, she had become a master of survival, avoiding suspicion as to her true nature.
Centuries later, the process of transforming humans into Avians was revealed. Tired of living in the shadows, Elizabeth used her connections to have herself changed as well, hoping that the transformation would expel her vampiric traits once and for all. She had become so frustrated with her life she didn't even care if she died in the attempt.
Much to her dismay, although posessing a new body, some of her vampire traits remained. They were not as pronounceed as before, however. Sunlight was no longer a threat to her life, but it did rob her of some of her strength. She also still needed to consume blood, but with less frequency. This problem was further resolved by her ability to consume a synthetic blood substitute that had been created, easing her conscious about satisfying her appetite.
Elizabeth still lives with the stigma of being a supposedly mythical monster. Those who take the time to get to know her view her as a very reluctant vampire and posesses very high morals. In the past she absolutely refused to attack any innocent person just so she could feed, instead only chosing corrupt and criminal individuals whose death's would not gain as much attention, or perhaps would be welcomed. She has stated she would rather starve than to kill some random person.
Elizabeth's persona is very cultured and proper, and is particularly centered on her experience in the Victorian era, which she stated was the first time in her life she had something resembling a normal life. She credits the fascination with vampires that occured during that time as allowing her to mingle more freely, since most had assume she was simply acting that part. Once that popularity faded, she was forced into hding once more.
Her proper and sometimes strict personality has led to her having some interesting peeves, mostly on how she is addressed. She insists in being refered to by her proper name, and gets frustrated when she is called Liz, Lizzy, Beth, or any other variation of her name. Naturally, this has become a tool for those looking to push her buttons. Despite her character, she is still not considered as strict as Rapier, and her vast knowledge of history has made her an asset in her own right.
