"I'll Just Be A Minute" is NOT a Legal Disability!
respect blue spaces
_______
Where I found it:
Found on a bumper sticker of a white van, in the strip mall parking lot Thursday early evening.
This individual had the needed Disability Parking Placards/Plates, and was parked in a clearly defined blue space.
It make me laugh, so I took the photo.
_______
Why did I want to share this photo?
I have always been at mildly annoyed about individuals without the blue Disability Parking Placards/Plates who choose to park in the clearly defined blue spaces.
Both of my parents are physically disabled. I can so relate to the inconsideration and laziness of others that choose to park in a handicapped space meant for those that need it most.
Walking is good for you, so please, if you can walk - walk! Leave the blue spaces for those individuals who have a real legal disability - like those that cannot easily walk unassisted or those who may never walk again.
Something to think about...

I've seen those too and I think they're great, but the women need to be obviously pregnant. Like third trimester carrying a beach-ball-in-her-belly pregnant, otherwise it doesn't make sense. Getting around when your still early in pregnancy is easy aside from nausea. I feel bad for officers that have to enforce it though because it's a touchy subject and who wants to argue with an angry pregnant woman? lol
I did some basic research to give you a more clear answer on a disability is in my state:
Note: this just applies to the temporary place cards meant to hang on the rear view mirror
An individual is considered disabled if licensed physician determines the patient:
1) can't walk 200 feet without stopping to rest
2) can't walk without a brace, cane, crutch, another person, prosthetic device, wheelchair or another device
3) have a lung disease that restricts exhale volume for one second to less than one liter
4) use portable oxygen
5) have a serious cardiac condition defined as Class III or Class IV by the American Heart Association
6) have arthritic, neurological or orthopedic condition

Also, adding loss of arm and blindness to the list would qualify for a temporary place card.
(Although, if someone is blind I assume someone else will be driving the vehicle logically.)

As for the Disabled Military Veteran Plate:
Eligibility: Any Veteran who has been declared to be between 50% and 99% service-connected disabled by the United States Department of Veterans' Affairs and who has not received financial assistance from the Veteran's Administration toward the purchase or lease of a motor vehicle.

Ahem.. well, uuh... The second part of my comment was meant to be funny; true, but funny. Good to know Kentucky has its act together about this though.
By the way; I was born in Louisville, and Mom's from down around Cumberland Falls. (I'm in NC now.) Nice to meet you!

The blue spaces get abused far too often. I also don't believe being obese is an excuse to use those spaces or the motorized grocery baskets in the store either....that is probably my biggest pet peeve. Some people actually NEED those scooters to do their shopping. :(
If someone has a medical need for one of those motorized carts at walmart or the grocery store ill say use them. Being obese may be a secondary or tursery condition to more serious problems like having breathing trouble long distances or heart issues due to disease. Yet, I do agree the carts and the blue spaces should only be used by those who need them.
