Bishop and Clovis are frequent flyers at doggie daycare (keep negative comments about things like daycare to yourself this place is a godsend to a nightshifter like me). Since Bishop keeps pulling his muscles we’ve been keeping him down for a good while.
Yesterday we got a call from the facility we take him to. Bishop’s favorite handler there was leaving for Ohio for a couple months (hopefully he’ll come back afterwards). And he asked his boss if Bishop could come and play for his last day (Bishop’s his favorite dog). By the time we got the message, there was about an hour left in the daycare’s working day. Threw the boy’s in the car and brought em down to daycare. The owner told us to let them go in the office; Bishop immediately sought out and tried to tackle his buddy. They wrestled around the office for a good 45min.
Hopefully the daycare will be able to find someone that loves Bishop’s exuberance as much as he did. Or at least find someone that can pick him up like that.

People think doggy daycare is a bad thing? Wow...
Haha, man that must take some strength to pick up a dog that size like that. I'm sure your pup will miss his friend who watches him at daycare. It's great to see doggy daycare providers with such love for the dogs in their care. :)

I can't imagine what Bishop would have been like if he hadn't gotten socialized through daycare. I tried myself, but people who're willing to come up to a big EXCITED dog like Bishop are few and far between (I needed some help). Daycare people don't care so long as he dosen't try and eat anybody.
this made me seriously cry. i work at a doggie hotel, and actually, this next week is my last week in four years. i'm having to quit, and leaving the dogs and their parents is the hardest thing i ever have had to do. i have cried while saying good by to my favorites and have even had some that said they would go with me if i go to another hotel. its emotional, and this picture captures what doggie daycares can do for people. <3
Yeah especially what they can do for a dog that would have otherwise been isolated by the rest of the world based on they're looks, like Bishop. Everyone likes Bishop at daycare even when he's hyper they always smile through the sigh; cause he takes the edge off the rowdy ones. But this guy was different, he adored my big monster dog. He wasn't allowed in the yard when my dogs were there cause Bishop would get all pushy and excited and wouldn't listen to anybody. If Bishop had to go for a time out he'd yell at the other workers 'don't be mean to Bishop'. I guess on his breaks he'd sneak Bishop off to another room to play with him.
I do believe a good daycare can do great things for a dog. Know that you helped your fuzzy pals greatly just by playing and interacting with them.
