Kingdom Hearts II Riku commission
Commissioned request for a customer at the mlpTrading Post forum. Request was of the character Riku as seen in the Play Station 2 video game Kingdom Hearts II. This customer wanted his regular outfit with a removable Organization XIII trench coat, blind fold and key blade. I made a freebie moogle custom for fun.

Mlp base is an engineered pose from two different generation 3 ponies.
Full body repaint job in flesh tone acrylics, eyes hand-painted in realism textures also in acrylics.
All paint is always sealed in Artists Varnish.
Mane and tail are re-rooted in Hasbro pony hair in the colors stormy sky gray, raincloud, arctic frost and marshmallow. Added faerie lights (mix of seafoam green and light purple) saran hair from Restroredoll hair.com.
Hair permanently styled in my hair gel method.
Outfit: started off with the shoes. They began as white bias tape with gray ribbed ribbon shaped in a oval dip in the middle of the front. Over top is orange bias tape with orange hemp glued on for the laces. Lined in white hemp. Soles are thick black leather. Black stripes are ribbon glued into place, soles lined in silver strip of metallic leather.
Next outfit piece crafted was the pants. Started off with a large square shape cut from medium dark blue rayon (or polyester) fabric. Used the matte side and the shiny side is inside the pants. Cut a slit up to the belt line to fit the pants around the tail then between the legs. Folded over the bottom two corners of the square piece to make a hem for the bottoms of the pant legs. Sewed the pant legs in the inner legs of the pony, then sewed a hem up to the tail hole.
Pockets are hand-sewn from a neutral navy blue bias tape.
Belt is a strip of black leather I cut from a larger piece of leather, then glued gold rhinestones on to resemble the square stud details of Riku’s pants. The belt buckles are dark blue ribbon. Added a start fruit embellishment to the belt. I wired together leaf beads and a yellow flower bead with a blue star button in the middle. I added gold ends to the chain to keep the chain on the outfit better, then finished it off with some orb-like rhinestones.
Next up was the navy blue under-vest (or tank top, not sure what to call it) Cut a hour-glass shape from navy blue polyester material, then cut the shape in half then sewed gray zipper down the middle. Hemmed all the edges then sewed it around the belly/torso of the pony.
Next, I made the bottom of the white vest. Started with a white strip of bias tape, lined the bottom with yellow bias tape, then sewed a thin strip of medium dark blue bias tape above that. Lined all the edges with white bias tape. Sewed a small portion of gray zipper at the edges of both sides.
Next, sewed the sleeves. Took two strips of white bias tape for each side, lined the outer sides with a hem of white maxi piping. Sat those aside, then started the collar piece. Sewed a larger width of white bias tape to a smaller width of white bias tape. Unfolded yellow bias tape completely then glued it in the inner-lining with fabric glue. Then I sewed the collar to the inner sides of the sleeves. Added gray zipper pieces along the outer-most sides of the collar then lined the inside/along zipper edge with more yellow bias tape.
Added white hemp detailing to the sleeves with fabric glue, then sewed all the white vest pieces together. Detailing the inner collar with silver plastic rhinestones.
White wrist band is white bias tape with white maxi piping hemmed on both sides. Finished with a small strip of white bias tape at the hem that connects the wristband around the leg.
Embellished blue/clear star accents on the bottom of the front right hoof with rhinestones.
Keyblade:
Constructed from transparent plastic from My Little Pony packaging. Blade has purple leather sandwiched between the two layers of plastic, and red pigment paint textured on the inside of the plastic. White wing tip of blade has paint textured on the outside of the plastic. Leather mounted along the tops of the blade, all painted in acrylics detailed in black hemp cording.
Eyeball area is lined with purple hemp cording, eyeball is a plastic flat-back oval stone that I pained with acrylics to look like a eyeball.
Hilt is a flat wooden stick that’s painted black with cobweb trim over top that’s painted red. Dark and light wings are cut from leather, dark wing is painted in acrylics. Multiple layers of leather used for wings to make them more durable. Chain fastened at end of hilt. Black heart charm at end of chain is crafted from black leather, with two sides of the transparent plastic sandwiching the black leather heart. Lined with metallic red cord and red hemp cording.
Organization XIII jacket:
Cut 4 pieces for the jacket from black thin deer skin leather. Long rectangle for the train of the trench coat, a large half oval for the hood (with a cut in the middle) then 2 quadrangle shapes.
All hand-sewn, entirely removable. Lined the train of the jacket with gray zipper, sleeves are lined in black maxi piping. Catch along the front is silver beads wired to cerulean chain which is sewn to the jacket. Hood strings are black hemp with silver spikes tied at the ends.
Made a freebie moogle mog to send with this commission.
Mog is a generation 3 McDonald’s pony, full body-repaint in antique parchment acrylics. Hand-painted gradient up the legs. Started with beach comber beige, then blended some pinks at the tops then blended it all together with coral pigment acrylics. Tail is pained in the beachcomber beige acrylic pigment.
Nose eyes and whiskers are also delicately hand-painted. All sealed in Artists Varnish. Wings are severed from a generation 3 McDonald’s Starsong Pegasus mlp purple hemp cording added to the bases of the wings. White hemp cording added around the neck.
Dingly-dopper on the forehead is a red plastic bead on black wire anchored inside the scalp. White faux fur glued to the scalp for the mane via fabric glue.
Ta-da! For free.
