He hates his hands about as much as I do, but at least it's finished.

I love solarized photography, maybe that's what I was channeling! Been checking out two sites dedicated to Polaroids: Polanoid.com and Polanoir.com. Both have some pretty trippy color palettes to be had. That's kept me thinking.
(I will do my best! Thank you for the kudos. They help spur me on.)

Honestly, I don't know. I started with that bright orange background and just started drawing with whatever was at hand. Painter has this weird habit of leaving a given tool at whatever color setting last used. In this case I grabbed the Crowquill pen and it was set to that neutralized cyan/turquoise. I started drawing, liked what I saw, and kept going.
Then the red lines seemed like a good idea. Dunno WHERE that came from. Outer Space. Snot. Earwax.
On to the next piece. :P

Awesome picture. Would look very good silkscreened on large format (2m high, i imagine), especially since the figure is at the top... Just thought that it'd work in interesting ways when it's large ant the figure is above the viewer.
Love the colors, very unique and interesting (although the vibrating cyan causes my headache to sharpen right now, weird).
The hands? Weird - they don't look out of place to me, nothing bad about them stands out.
Composition is interesting and works great, but I don't really like the tangents to the picture border at the top and bottom. Just seem to call too much attention to themselves, I keep craving for (slightly) more space there.
For short: very cool picture, thanks for showing. :]

I love his hands. He has strong hands. The kind of hands you like to hold and have hugging you. Make you feel all safe. =)
I also like your use of color, but I see the way it emphasis and stimulates the figure. He seems to shimmer forth and quiver at me, which really draws my eyes to linger and study him more. It's kinda cool before first I see the big picture, all of him, the general shapes and parts of him, but then that seems to almost melt away and the finer details come stronger into view. Suddenly he's not a figure at all, not shapes but instead all I see are the various individual dots and lines and marks that comprise him. Kinda like viewing a pointillism piece from far back and then stepping close, but I don't have to move with this one. ^.^ (I'm probably over analyzing this to the extreme, hehe.)
Not sure if you wanted that effect, but I rather enjoy it. I always say a good piece is one that stops people for more then a second and compels them to look deeper and pulls them into the piece to analyze and make sense of it. Then it's huge bonus if that walk away and actually understand somethign about it. =D That part's wishful thinking though!
Very nice as usual Berbaby!

Hey sweetie! Man alive, thank you for that effusive little text! It doesn't hurt to analyze why something's working. (If I may be presumptuous and say that this piece is working.) It's just as useful as figuring out why something *isn't* working. We're more inclined towards critical mode when something isn't right. We sometimes forget to poke at solid pieces of art to get at why they're solid.
That's the whole idea behind doing master copies, and it's a good'n, too.
Soon as I saw the way that blue/gray vibrated with that orange, I knew I had the makings of something cool. I just went with that vibe 'til I got something that I felt held together. Snabbed some reference on line to make those hands at least halfway decent, and there it were. Maybe an hour's work.
*hugs* Thank you, sweetie. You really are.

Good god. That time frame blows me away. An hour? Well, go you! You have a very successful piece as far as I"m concerned.
Man, I absolutely LOVE when people help me analyze my work, positive and negative aspects of it.
I'm glad I could be of some help. *hugs* Feels good to be useful! =D
