Okay, so here we are. I drew this up today for fun, then as a little experiment simply slapped on some really light colors over the sketch. The effect is actually rather nice...

These benevolent and protective spirits, I suppose you could say, are somewhat like fairy godparents of sexuality; they're a very specialized type of being somewhat related to succubi, but of my own creation. They enter the dreams of young people as they sleep and befriend them, becoming sort of a guide as the person explores their interests and learns how to care and love. It's not just about the sex, it's about teaching them to be happy, confident, and above all kind and loving to others; they're just as likely to spend the hours gossiping or sharing affectionate hugs as they are to actually transform and indulge in fetishistic play.

Because they're spirits, they don't really have a gender or even that much of an identity beyond what you see here - they tend towards cool, muted colors like light blues, silvers and lilacs, or at the most very pale pastels. They also have brilliant ivory stripes on their underbellies and at the ends of their limbs.

As they grow in power and age, their tendrils and tails will lengthen, though they'll always have just two of each. In addition, their skin is... rather smooth and alien to the touch, a little bit like cetacean blubber or living latex. But they transform often, into whatever their friends desire, so they rarely spend time in this basic form. Because they live in dreams, they can take literally any shape one can imagine with no effort at all, though the older and more powerful spirits can actually affect the real world if they're so inclined.

I can't think of a good name for this little species... any suggestions? I'm open to most anything. =)
