I just found out that the Eurasian Bullfinch is called a Domherre in swedish.
Which somewhat translates to Sir of Doom.

I'd say it's more likely that the name derives from the Swedish word for canon (type of priest) --kanik, or korherre-- due to it's black head. The dom part refers to a cathedral (domkyrka).
In Norway, these guys are called 'dompap', where the 'pap' part referse to cardinal or pope due to it's red breast. Both would make for neat-looking anthro birds xD
