Eh, this is something I really don't understand. If I'm in the shower and someone flushes the toilett, nothing happens.
So what happens, if you've got a bad water-system?

Depends on the water heater and the homes setup . when the toilet flushes or if someone starts running the sink in the kitchen it will pull the water from the heater before its heated . and there will be a sudden drop in water presser in the lines in the home. happens all the time in low income apt buildings and older homes.

Yup, in my house, a flushed toilet steals all the cold water, resulting in a scalding hot shower for a minute or so.

I had once to take a shower in the winter only with cold water because the hot water wasn´t working.

Oh, I can give you something worse >< My parent's house had a shared hot water. There was a time that I went to take a bath and my sister decided it was time to wash the dishes which caused the bathroom to get colder water for the time. Having most of the hot water drained, I set the shower to the hottest level so that I wouldn't freeze to death and suddenly my sister finished and turned her water down. It hurt real bad, I had the hottest water possible splash on me! D:!

So that's how peanut butter is made... x3

Man i can relate to that feeling...I've had that happen to me on quite a few ocaissons as well(although usually for me its hot to sudden cold D:)..But agreed its difinitely not a plesant experience at all that's for sure xD ^^.

my shower does this too. it starts off cold for a few seconds (normal) then reaches the right temperature, but after 6 min it suddenly gets burning hot so I'm basically fiddling with the water temperature the entire shower

Lol, yeah for showers that work from the boiler (mine is usually evil and suddenly goes cold... evil thing)

When I lived at my parent's, the shower was on the 2nd floor, and the water *barely* hurt my skin. When I moved out, I got an apartment where if I turn the hot to 100% its still not hot enuf (Its one of those 1-knob things) for my preference.

That said, the fox in this pick must have had it rough, as the hot water would have lingered in his fur for awhile before it left his skin. x.x

Been there before on both ends of the thermometer; usually because of the dishwasher in my previous house. If you caught either end of its cycle during a shower, it led to an uncomfortable few minutes.
