*blinks* whats up with the textural rendering? I think the effect kinda spoils the image a bit... in my opinion at least.

if you're looking for snow and you want to do it in photoshop, theres a few tricks ^^;
1: a new layer, set to screen, filter->noise->addnoise and then play around with that layers Levels (ctrl+L)
2: the 'snowflake' filter that I downloaded, if you want it, I could send it to you ^^

anywho, just thought I'd give that bit of advice, but thats because I'm currently trying to keep myself away from using filters and doing as much of it as possible by hand. I love the pic aside from that though man!

It helps to use all to your ability, limiting yourself to certain things won't help you progress further. Use what you can to make your works that much better.

ah, but if I can do it by hand then I can control exactly where the effect goes instead of leaving it to the computer.

but yeah, I like to expand my horizons rather than lock down to just one way of doing things.

Oh ok. Well anyway, you're right, it looks better without a filter. I removed it, it's now original and smooth looking. ^^
