On a somewhat related furry note, when you look at these pictures from IMS, you realize how many Indycars were named after animals.
In this picture alone, I can see an "Eagle", a "Coyote", a "Chaparral", and a "Wildcat". There may be other front-engined roadsters in that photo that I don't even realize.
