So, I have my coolant fan back and I completed the animation work yesterday evening. You will all get to see what has been causing me so much trouble and worry lately a little later on, once I have settled all the copyright issues etc. but generally, this was the end of the big part...unfortunately doesn't mean that all the stress is off me, but at least a little.
Yeah, so to celebrate this, I upload a picture I drew a little while back when I was picking up some concepts of russian technology and enhanced it...sort of
What you see is the result of a few redesigns and adaptations
That thing in the background is a VTOL based on an Mi-24 HIND-D, the followers of the "letayushiy tank". You don't see many of the original characteristics from this point of view, but I did add the turboshaft intakes and the double-bubble canopy for the refeence of the original...a sort of tribute if you want
Foreground is russian infantry-men with AK-120 Assault rifles and various other infantry upgrades. On the left is a sniper with an upgraded SVD.
That big guy there is the result of crossing exo-skeleton technology with a Landmate and a T-90 Tank. The rifle is an adaption of the DShK 12,7 AA Machine gun with a drum mag and an 80 mm Mortar.
Getting a little too technica again, but I figured you peeps might wanna know where I referenced all this crap from XD

Heh, I try to portray soldiers as what they realistically are. Sure, there's the sitting around, doing nothing and bullshitting bit, but soldiers are supposed to be disciplined too...something Hollywood kinda fucks up X3
Maybe some day, depends on wether or not I spin this any further

lol well I don't think africa will be the new superpower :p, but yeah its a trend Russia's Air programs have always been top notch and in my opinion, experience and technical understanding, and all around common sense, been better and a few steps up from the US's.
Unless by American you means Canadians also, or some southern/central American country thats gonna be kick ass one day?

I was told it was the name of the man who designed the gas expansion chamber that let it work with such a ridiculously short barrel (the barrel ends JUST beyond the gas port for the bolt/piston) but I do not know if it is true. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.ht.....amp;amp;page=3
Yep. Ma takes care of her sons. ;)
Oddly, I have heard that during WW2 the Russian nickname for their F1 frag grenade was 'Fenyusha'. This is one of the only times I have ever heard of a grenade being named with a 'person' name, as opposed to nicknamed for what it looked like (such as the WW2 American 'pineapples').

Glad to know things are calming down for you man.
As for the artwork I love the dropshipdesign, sleek, and powerful. The weapons and armor, especially the powered armor soldier, looks to be a staple of might. I wonder since they're being dropped in a field what their mission is? A seek and destroy perhaps. Interesting.
Also it's nice to see some human themed work every once in a while, impressive as always.
