This weird little thing is called a softbody test. Its a step to getting giggly flesh, cloth and hair that moves in the wind. My first use of Soft Bodys will be with the Le mal model to flesh out his wings.

So for soft bodies, if you're just doing doll posing, can you still use soft bodies? In other words, if I make a shirt or dress for my doll and want to get a snapshot of it twirling, I'd animate it to a certain point and then just render the one frame that I want I suppose?
I'm kinda jumping ahead of the game I suppose... still playing with particles over here.

I'm not quite up enough to speed to answer real indeapth questions yet, BUT here is what I think I know! :p
Soft bodys are part of the particle system and thus can be baked over frames. So yes, you could animate a object and then bake. Then you could simply render a single frame. (That's sort of what I did for the frame I made into the thumb / jpeg.)
Anyway, grey matter is frying right now.. Going to go play mindless game and think about something else for a little while!
