Commissioned cross for StealYourSharks on DA. Hands down my best one yet. Created from a non-mountable ranched cross, this fella is beyond photogenic and all all around ham! 100% poseable this Spook features blue LED's, a very plush belly (just adding to how FAT he is!) and unbelievably thick fur. Definitely a prime winter coat.

Yes this is 100% real. Yes its dead, no you will not get attention by sobbing or calling names, flaming, or throwing a tantrum. Death is apart of life, people honor death differently than you might, get over it. Anyone of the sort will get their comment hidden. If you don't like it, then leave. You should know by now what I post. Harsh? Deal with it, I'm tired of baww'ers that don't know that taxidermy IS a form of art or cannot handle themselves maturely.
I am currently closed for commissions on these but wait! There's one up for auction right now!!! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10443406/

The standard sunglow is looking around $300 for the pelt alone and that's without feet :/ I would need to do some digging when it came to getting the pelt, as finding one with feet is the tricky part. UNLESS you don't mind it having black feet? I can get a sunglow or $300 and add feet (only ones I can get are black) at pretty much any time. Soo probably looking at around $500-650 depending on the features.
I seriously was terribly confused for an amount of 2 minutes as to whether or not it was real. Then I went to read the description and figured out the truth. Very very well made. If it was enough to make me think you'd put a mask on a real animal and had it pose for you, I call that purely amazing. Keep it up!
Your work here is interesting I openly admit that. But your total lack of empathy for an intelligent being clearly stated in the last paragraph above I find very sad. Foxes die a horrible death on fur farms often by electrocution through the anus. It causes death by cardiac arrest while fully awake and aware, it can take up to 10 sec to cause death. It is not "humane" and these animals do understand fully what's going on.
I employ anyone here to spend time with a fox, it will change the way you view them!

It varies on ranches as well as trappers. Most fur farms in the US euthanize, giving a lethal injection that is painless. However this is a wild fox, not a ranched, euthanized the same way. Often times I do have to be blunt with some people as some don't understand that death is a natural part of life. Often the arguments happen with the younger generation that only see the "pretty fox" and don't understand population control or what happens if a pelt is not preserved it sloughs off, its beauty never known to the world.
I'm far from the younger generation, and foxes are my passion. In fact I've been working with and rescuing these animals for longer than you've been alive if your profile is correct. And I could not count how much money and time I've invested over the years but with time has come knowledge. Fox example, you brought up population control. That's something that always gets under my skin when it's our species that's going on 7 billion+ with no end in sight... Red foxes actually control there own numbers in fact, they are very territorial and numbers are often limited purely through social maters well.
Also I honestly don't want to be rude to you but I've got to say you're very naive to think most fur farmed and or trapped foxes are simply put to sleep like a family dog. Electrocution via the anus is pretty much a world wide method used by fur farmers. And only in the state of New York has this been outlawed much to the protest of fur farmers. In fact fur commissions around the world make claim that this is the best way to kill them, with the claim of it being humane! Anyone who has seen it, heard one of these harmless little animals scream in pain, and watched them shock them several times because they did not die the first time. This is how many of these animals die and that's a fact I'll be happy to prove. And I've not even said how their life is beforehand, never being able to do the most simple of things important to a thinking creature like digging a hole or being able to run. They never experience any of this... And I need not get into trapping.
All of these things are totally un-needed in this day and age and the suffering these intelligent creatures endure is purely for fashion.
These things truly break my heart to even think about... I'll ask you please not take offense to anything I said, my only goal is to tell the truth not to attack you. And I ask that you excuse me now, I'm going to spend some time with my foxes.

My apologies for butting in, but am quite curious:
In fur farms, is the entire pelt preserved?
I have done no research on these matters and have very limited knowledge on them, but I had always been under the impression that fur-farmed pelts were primarily used to get the "preferred" areas of fur (i.e. the soft, plush torso), as other body parts are not only harder to remove, but less appealing (to a consumer, that is). Thus, fur farms don't worry about extremities such as feet and tails and, if they sell them at all, would just sell them separately. All of this contributing to the market rarity of a full pelt (paws intact) as, typically, full-pelts would only be gathered by those more interested in true preservation of the specimen.
(Keep in mind, I am not stating an approval of fur farms in any way-- this is purely a logistical question, for the sake of understanding the topic as a whole!)

I'm honestly not sure... The skins are just generally in whole at fur farms. Most of the time they are processed at other places afterwords. It's generally at these places they decide the quality of the poor creatures hide. Ones that don't meet the quality aspect are thrown away, sold off at a cheap price, or made into cat toys or something... However some fur farmers looking a quick buck will tan hides them self and sell them online or at flee markets. Also don't forget! Trapping is just as cruel! Often they go days stuck in a trap, scared, exposed, and knowing what's going to happen. These animals are most often killed with a low caliber gun in order to preserve the fur. I've seen foxes scream in pain then linger for several mins after being shot in the neck with a 22 cal.
Not to make people mad... But if you know the fur farm well, it's not always as you say... The guy I buy my tails from has what's called a free ranged fur farm... And he hunts his animals off his own farm... So not all fur farms are abusive as you state.... He only head shots and heart/lung shots so that the kill is instant... So please note... Not all fur farms are evil.... Some are find to their stock...
I'm sorry for replying to your comment even though it was made several months ago.
But I've seen conversations like this sooo many times... And I always think the same things...
Cows.
Pigs.
Even stupid fishes.
Animals that we eat.
Are those animals less valuable than foxes?
So much people eat meat daily. Even though a human being really doesn't need to eat meat that much to stay alive.
And what do we do with that meat? We shit it out.
What do we do with fur coats and stuff like this? We take care of it, we admire the beautiful coat that that animal had. As long as you have a statue like this you'll be reminded constantly how beautiful the animal was. The owner will probably think it's gorgeous.
Can you even recall the steak you had last week? Did you even think about it ever being an animal?
Most people don't. They eat it just because it tastes good for a few minutes.
I never ever heard anyone say before they ate some meat, 'hey, let's all think about the chicken we're eating for a sec.Boy I wonder what kind of life he had and how he died.'
I own a fur coat, every time I wear it I realize that I'm wearing the fur of a few animals. And I actually feel a bit guilty about it sometimes.
Even though I know there are so much people my age that have consumed more pigs and cows than I have ever done.
Why should I feel guilty about wearing that coat?
Honestly, I don't know why wearing the fur of a dead fox is considered more cruel than eating a chicken. It's not like those chickens had a good life.
Not even mentioning how they threat fish.
No I'm not kidding.
It's proven that fish also feel pain, and that they are a lot smarter than we think.
They just don't look as 'cute'

Thanks for the rude comment I'll answer it ever bit as rudely.
First off your asinine comment was over used and trivial at best. I'm not going to even point out all Tue flaws in it as you clearly are a cruel person that would never listen. So I'll just simply say this, its their intelligence that means most. The greater the intelligence the more likely a being is to suffer! And these animals suffer greatly! Not for food, nor anything else nessursy for survial. They die for fashion and greed. I don't condone any torture of any living being! In fact I get laughed at at work because each time it rains I go out in the parking lot and save earth worms. I expect I'm a lot older than you, so I'll just take a wild guess and say ive been working with and trying to save as many of these intelignent creatures most likely your whole life! And last but not least. If I could sacerifce my self to end their suffering I would!
Karma is not going to be nice to you! Mark my words and remember them!
Good day! A reply no reply is needed as I'll block you if you do.

I'm really sorry if my comment sounded rude
It wasn't my intention to make you feel attacked.
Sorry if you think I said stupid things.
I DO love animals a lot, and in my opinion I feel like animals killed for fur get a lot more attention than the animals for food.
But maybe I am misinformed. And maybe it has to do with the country I live in.
Please, if you say there are huge flaws in what I said, I really want to hear them.
I don't want to spread lies, and it truly wasn't my intention to make you this upset!
I love animals, and I only wanted to point out that the animals for food are also suffering much more than they should.
And I don't think being less intelligent affects how you feel pain.
At least, that's what I heard.
But if you say I'm wrong and can back that up please say so.
Again, I'm really sorry if I insulted you.

Would you be able to dye the fur or would that hurt it because someday I might get one if possible of http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17990164/ but it won't be for a few years ^_^
