Got another black bear in today! This one's not mine, I'm only holding on to him temporarily. He's going to be the crowning piece on a customers Game of Thrones/Viking cloak! He is gorgeous though! I'm so jealous of him! I've taken to calling him Chai, I have a tendency of naming my pelts and I wasn't going to name this guy because I didn't want to get attached but right as I pulled him from the box the name Chai popped into my head. So that'll be his working name while I have him =P
He's a few inches longer then my own Mohah and is much lighter then her too. His fur is really short, Mohah's is very long and fluffy. This guys fur is shorter and smoother. He also has this beautiful blond streak down the center of his back and a nice white mark on his chest. Overall a beautiful bear! He'll make a great addition to the cloak, he'll be detachable too so he can be displayed while the cloaks not being worn!

I think the person above is "creeped out" over the way you talk about the pelt as though it is a living animal, giving it a name and what not. Personally, I feel that is far more respectful to the life lost than to just refer to it as an object. It is nice to see recognition that the pelt was once moving!
