I couldn't help but recall a certain Stat Trek myth that mentions when the finalized conceptual model for the 1966 version of the Starship Enterprise was to be presented to the directors board the model was hung upside down. Yeah, I know. In Space there's no "Up," But for most my "Trekkie" life the configuration has been, secondary hull below and booms above. I do agree with the design as it would be wiser to place all that sensory equipment above the saucer hull for a wider field of view.
