Imagine, for a moment, that there was a tv show that was like The Crystal Maze met Run The Risk, with furries. You are now imagining the Industrial Zone series, written by
iron-k, a very good friend of mine. If you haven't read them, go read them now, and you'll have a good idea of what to expect from this. Try the link below, if you don't know where to start. Go on, I'll wait.

Okay, now you should understand what you're letting yourself in for. If you now imagine that someone wanted to write a gift story for IronK as a tribute, and if you imagine the above, but with a dose of Knightmare added in as well, that's somewhere around where this turned out. And yes, this is only part 1; the others will come in due course, but I write really slowly, so doing it episodically allows me to avoid feeling like it'll never be finished. :P
I'll come clean (ahahaha): this sort of thing amuses me. I've always liked messy game shows, even when I was very young, and they've been a big part of my childhood and growing up (assuming you consider me to be 'grown up' now). This was a chance not only to let out some of the odd ideas floating around in my brain, but to give a gift to some awesome people, without whom my life would've taken a much more normal (and thus, boring) route. :P
Thus, this story and the parts that follow it are dedicated to
iron-k and
susi, for their unfailing enthusiasm, support and inspiration. I wouldn't be who I am today without you. *hugs you both*

I'm on my phone, so this comment might get a little messed up (funny, considering the nature of the story...).
This is a pretty excellent start of what I'm sure will be a very entertaining series. I read in the description how you incorporated elements from some of my favourite game shows, and this story did not disappoint in that regard. I also really liked Mason and his whole nervousness about being there, but all of the characters were still enjoyable to read about.
I'd love to see more of this!

I'm really glad you liked it!
I tried to put some variety in the way the characters were approaching the games; I like exploring different perspectives on things, and I wanted them to come across as real characters, rather than one-dimensional cut-outs just there to fill a slot. I didn't get a great deal of time to explore Ruth or Lucy's points of view, but that'll hopefully come in future parts; there are a couple of seeds in the background in this part that I want to develop into subplots, and I hope they'll turn out well. :)
There is more planned to this - it'll probably be four chapters long in total, one for each main area and one for the final - but as I say, my writing is pretty slow, and I have a couple of projects to work on in addition to this. I'm really glad you're enjoying it, though - this is kind of a new direction for me, and it's nice that people like the weird stuff my brain comes up with. :P
