I played World of Warcraft for a solid two years. I quickly found my niche as a hunter. I consider myself to be a "sniper player", generally working best when I can hang back and deal heavy damage from out of harm's way.
I also dabbled in other classes as well, and later in my second year of WoWing I tried out a priest. I think that if I'd not been forced off WoW due to technical problems, my priest would have hit top level in half the time it took me to get my hunter (almost) there. I had a lot of fun playing the hunter class, and often found it hilarious only ever having to fight at 100% occasionally. But the healer class was an unexpected rush for me. The responsibility of literally holding an entire team, working to keep them alive, to keep ahead of the constant onslaught of damage, juggling various healing spells in order to get everyone through the fight, was surprisingly electrifying. On occasion someone would complain that I was not fighting, that I was just standing there (usually cos there wasn't much healing needed at that particular time). But when I play a healer, I play to heal. It's my opinion that if my attention is partially focused on fighting, then it's not 100% on keeping everyone alive. Teamwork is a strong thing and each member of the team can contribute just as much as the others, but when you have a healer in the team, they become the backbone, the core of the team. If the healer fails, the whole team potentially fails.
I haven't played WoW since just after Wrath of the Lich King came out. While it was a fun experience, I don't really miss playing, in general. But the one thing I do miss about WoW is my Draenei priest, Snowdrift. Over half of her levels were racked up just healing for random groups in dungeons. I never had any complaints about my healing abilities and if I remember correctly, I don't believe I ever failed to keep someone alive, outside of their own stupidity.
I want to thank :ShySiren: very much for breathing a bit of life back into my priest. She was an unexpected thrill to play and I miss playing her greatly.

P.S. No, I was not pro-Alliance. I only played Alliance because they had Draenei. :D Just in case anyone was wondering.
