Sunday, afternoon
Saskia was sitting at the dinner table in her robe, sipping coffee and feeling groggy. She had gone to a party the night before, and had come home around six in the morning.
She was in the kitchen by herself. Pete was out. To where, she didn’t know. Dad was doing something for work, and mom was reading a book in the living room. The toaster went ping and she got up to get her toast. Just then she heard Pete park his bike in the rack in the back yard. She wandered where her brother had been. Usually she nearly always knew it when he went somewhere, she realized.
Pete let himself into the kitchen. When he saw Saskia, a broad mischievous smile appeared on his muzzle. She knew she looked like some kind of mad feral, only then tired. She sat back at the table, when Pete spoke.
"Hehe, wow! Looks like someone partied too hard!" Pete said while taking a seat across from her.
She smiled apologetically. "Guilty as charged. I look awful, don’t I?"
"Actually, I think it looks kind of sexy."
"You...!" she admonished him, but she couldn't help but smile.
Pete laughed at that. "I do mean it though. There is something absolutely cute about tired ladies in the morning. And I’m pretty sure I’m not the only guy who thinks so."
Saskia looked steadily at Pete for a second, one eyebrow raised. Then she shook her head. "Men."

Outtake from a little bit of fiction I wrote (am writing), which inspired this drawing.
Done march '07, all by wacom. First time I drew a face form the front, I realized only when this picture was half-finished. I also tried smoother shading, instead of hard edges between shaded and non shaded areas. I'm reasonably satisfied with that.
