Sorry for the lack of stuff from me this year. Equipment broken both at work (due to moves) and at home. :/ No way to record outside of iPhone or laptop built in Mics. and that would have been garbage sounding. :(

Well, part of the reason why I like doing this project every year is that since it's all supposed to be voice mail, I crunch the audio a whole lot regardless of where it comes from. Everything gets compressed 20:1, I chop the EQ band really tightly and add distortion to make it sound like it's coming from a cheap little voice mail speaker. And given that, laptop mics and iPhone recordings are just fine for this purpose. You're right, I prefer higher quality for the podcasts, but for this, even awful quality is just fine, so don't let your gear hold you back in the future! :)
