Here we have the last of my trio of male earth stallion OCs, John Hodgepodge. He's an expert. No, really, his Special Talent is Expertise. And yeah, this is massively overpowered, especially considering that wand. All I can say is that his monofocus isn't really dependable; he might take notes on his current interest, but he's only really an expert on one thing (maybe two during some transitions) at any given time. Right now, he's expertly mixing a drink, though I can't say I know even whether it's alcoholic.

I have just written several paragraphs on his background. I think that instead of keeping them in this description, I'll link them here. (I'll note that John is responsible for getting Plum Bob, and the other earth ponies on the Hoofington police force, guns they can operate.)

So Hodgepodge is based on John Hodgman, what with him being an "expert" and all. I fit a couple other references into this picture. Not only does this pony bear a passing resemblance to Hodgman, but his pelt is colored like the Windows logo, since Hodgman costarred opposite Justin Long in the "I'm a Mac" commercials. And that citrus juicer, the Juicy Salif, appears in a TED talk Hodgman did on design.

Speaking of design, I am so sorry for the artist, who wishes to remain anonymous. (Not that it's likely to happen, but they really really wish it with regards to this piece.) I had clear ideas on coloring regarding the other two, but I basically drew a blank here. I eventually got one specific idea, and it was terrible, at least until somepony suggested the jacket. The artist has promised to charge me extra for future color pictures of John Hodgepodge.
