At the turn of the century, settlers had begun to move out into the wilderness of the new world. A nobleman by the name of Derek VonDressher, had received word that his last relative, had passed. With news of his dear mother's ascension into the world beyond forced him to leave the city, to reside in a small mining town, of which his family owned.

After seizing his estate, Derek settled into his new residence as he began to run the small but growing business, and took it upon himself to reach out to the townspeople. One of which, a new arrival from across the sea, was one he took special attention to. Her name was Lady Jessica Withswork. A beauty with scarlet hair, amber eyes, and lips and even darker shade of red than her hair. Immediately he was ensnared with her, devoting his time to win her affection. However, she turned him down every time.

One day Lady Jessica calls Derek to her home. 'Urgent Business' the letter was marked. Upon entering her home, Lady Jessica had asked Derek what he thought about Witchcraft and sorcery. Thinking it was a joke, he shrugs it off and thinks nothing of it. Not knowing that before him, a witch was about to make a deal that would scar him for years to come...

Derek was cursed with becoming a creature, composed of many insects, that feeds on years of time. By sinking their fangs into their victims, they drain the very life force from them. Turning young men and women alike, into old withered husks. The amount of time they drain not only sustains them, but adds onto their own life force.

Derek soon drained all but a few of the townspeople, for the living descendants were smart enough to leave early. He now stays in the deserted town, waiting for the love that wronged him to return, to remove the curse she placed upon him.

As of what happened to Lady Jessica, well, that is another story all together...
