My guess is cortosis gums.

Mostly just because I've heard of cotosis, but haven't heard of beskar. :-/

Also known as "Mandalorian Iron", one of the rare materials to withstand lightsabers.
Cortosis has the side-effect to shorten out lightsabers, beskar doesn't.

Ah. I remember one of the two materials (forget which, though probably Cortosis) was mentioned in one of the Jedi Apprentice novels. Which makes sense from a plot standpoint, because when you have a device that can cut through anything, it can introduce too many possibilities of shortcuts, so it makes sense to invent a material that lightsabres cannot cut through.

Was more fun taking it home with me on the plane, since it didn't fit into the checked luggage... 8)

Not so much that I am a collector but the blade is so long I would have to hold it all the time and that makes hugs and playing around difficult. The toy has a simple retractible blade so it looked good hilted.

Makes sense :P
I thought about making an accessory to carry it in, but, I can live with it as is, after all.. :)

Every time I hear there is new event i'm checking your profile. Clothes are very nice addition, looks almost one to one copy from the series. You ordered them or they were especially made for the taun taun?

Glad you like the look! I bought the Jedi outfir on EBay from a costumew shop that specializes in Star Wars. I also DO have the robe but it is very hot with everything in place. MFF is a cooler con so I may try the complete outfir then. :)
