This is set in the Black Rose universe which is seperate form the Chakat Universe.
This describes how Goldstrike came to be in the Black Rose and how shi became who shi is. I thought it was about time the back story of Goldstrike was told in this setting so here it is. Hope you enjoy reading as much as i had writing it.

A good read, nice to see a Chakat TF approached from a different angle than the Oceanwalker process. Not that I have anything against that angle, mind you. I just like seeing other ideas being used. Strike's origins and development are nicely laid out as well, thankyou for a excellent story!
I don't write much for this universe. My friend
scytherwarlock is the creator of the Black Rose universe and is the main writer.

I've always had a certain affinity for the staff, so this story is doubly interesting to me. In fact, I want to get a double-sided lightsaber someday soon.
Nightsky is cute and impish; I like hir quite a bit already.
I'm interested to know why they didn't just modify chakat embryos. Were they impossible to get? Or was the genetic engineering too complex? (But then, transforming a human would be as well.) Is said engineering done via science, magic or some of both? Very many questions...

The back story as to how Strike got there is unknown to everyone except Tiladon.
However, is it faster to get a killing machine that can use telepathic and empathic prediction to take down an organisation's threat in a short period of time by genetically manipulating someone rather than raising it from embryo. At the time Strike had was rescued, the rewriting process had begun as shi has no memory of hir former life. However, mental manipulation is a slow process and is one of the final steps. No point doing all that work if the body breaks down before it is complete.
