Yep, looks like it. As I sat here, bored out of my mind studying for finals I decided to overcome art block by drawing in a different style. Over the last couple of years I've been deviating from the manga look to the best of my abilities. Trying to find my own style, using photos as a reference for poses and getting anatomy correct.
And then, as I sat down to watch a few childhood movies, I figured I'd start aiming for a more western look. Looking at the classic Don Bluth flicks of my youth I decided that I would go towards that classic exaggerated feel of those cartoons. The faces seem a bit more... Malleable. At the same time I might throw in a few nods to manga in the form of a sweat drop or popping vein. xD
That's not to say that I don't like anime anymore. I could go on and on about the many Japanese shows I do like. I'm just harkening back to what got me in to the furry fandom in the first place.
Oh. In case you're wondering what's in my 'sona's hand, that's a takoyaki pan. xP

Aww. Thanks! Cute is what I was aiming for. Not a lot of approachable scales out there. XD. I remember the first time I saw a monitor. I was 12 years old and visiting Australia at the time. First one I saw had me running and screaming for the nearest grown up. But after a few days of being around them I started to become fascinated by them. I liked reptiles before, but that's how I started liking monitors in particular. ^..^
