For those of you who don't follow this, these are scenes from the dream I had. Read a little bit about it's general premise here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/13146/
The dark rooms. These places are increasingly common as the protagonist begins to wander out from the safety of his family sectors.
I know for a fact that the protagonist couldn't tell his dream family that he wanted to seek out the rebels, because of what was changing inside of himself. He felt an increasing urge that the world he was now living in wasn't right, but at this point he has no idea it's a dream. He just knows that the other rebellious kids must feel the same way. They're hiding out in the lesser-occupied and dark sectors of the universe. It's dark there because it's symbolic of the part of the protagonist's psyche that he didn't want to explore.
As time goes on you'll see it become more and more vibrant until it's bright enough for the characters of his utopian world start to come back later in the story to these areas, harassing the rebel kids until finally one of them gets killed in the accident which starts to remind the protagonist of his former life. To clean up the mess, the enforcers of course are dispatched and this is what eventually leads to the chaos which causes the protagonist to finally wake up from his dream.
